Bauerfeind's Custom Compression Garment Patient Support Program aims to provide custom-made and individualised compression garment solutions as an adjunctive therapeutic approach for patients to aid in the long-term management and treatment of multi-stage vascular conditions, as well as lymphoedema, lipoedema, and lipolymphoedema. These personalised product options are arranged through a process of precise consultation with patients and attending physicians to elicit and consider individual patient needs, the severity and stage of the patient condition, and clinical requirements, to ensure a seamless integration into patient care programs following lymphatic drainage treatment, during pre-operative and post-operative care, and during intermittent recovery.
A custom compression solution with Bauerfeind can be arranged by contacting and submitting patient referrals to our product technicians at [email protected]. Our team of product specialists will establish contact with the patient to make all necessary arrangements and ensure a prompt service. Organisation of a custom compression garment is a multi-stage approach that is defined by key processes:
- Appointment Setting
- The Appointment Experience
- Submission of Measurements and Final Quotation
- Invoicing
- Garment Manufacture
- Receipt and Dispatch
Appointment Setting
For Sydney-based clients, our team will contact the patient and arrange a suitable date and time to host them at our key facility at Shop 2A/ 227 Elizabeth Street Sydney, NSW 2000 to begin arranging their custom garment. Whilst alternative arrangements can be established to meet with the patient in the clinic, we highly encourage patients to attend the Bauerfeind facility where appropriate resources and tools are available on-site.
Please note walk-in services for custom compression are not permitted, and an appointment must be consolidated in advance.
Patients are required to read, acknowledge, and sign the Custom Compression Information and Consent Form prior to their appointment. A copy of the form is attached below, and a digital signable version will be sent to patients for completion in advance of their appointment date.
The Appointment Experience
The duration of an appointment for a custom compression garment is approximately 45 minutes, during which our product technicians will thoroughly consult with the patient to deduce the severity of their condition, any clinical recommendations, discuss custom product features and preferences, introduce the Bauerfeind compression garment options, practice garment donning and doffing, and set mutual expectations regarding manufacturing timelines, costs, and payment. Most notably, the appointment will centre on the manual and automatic measurement of a series of patient dimensions, which will be recorded on unique order forms.
Patient Images
With the permission of the patient, photography may be used to capture images for the purpose of supporting Bauerfeind technicians in evaluating and examining the patient’s condition and presentation, and enabling them to make appropriate recommendations during garment manufacturing.
Consult and Service Charge
Appointments for custom compression at Bauerfeind incur an initial consult and service fee ranging from $79.95-$159.95 AUD, depending upon the type of garment and number of measurements required. This fee is payable on the day following the appointment.
Submission of Measurements
Following the appointment, a completed order form containing the patient's unique measurements will be submitted to the head Bauerfeind manufacturers in Germany, who will return to us a final quotation that takes into account the type of garment required, specialised product features, cost of manufacturing and labour, and freight.
Invoicing
The final quotation will be provided to the patient in the form of an invoice, which is payable in accordance with Bauerfeind's standard available methods of payment.
Garment Manufacture
Once payment of the invoice has been processed, the order request for the custom garment will be authorised with Bauerfeind Germany, and manufacturing of the garment will commence.
Receipt of Garment and Dispatch
The completed garment will be dispatched to our Sydney warehouse via an air freight, and a member of the Bauerfeind Orders team will establish contact with the patient to confirm a shipping address to which the garment should be sent. The product will be subjected to expedited shipping to the patient to ensure a prompt delivery. Alternatively, arrangements can be made for the patient to collect the garment from the Bauerfeind Sydney facility.
